#10. Alex Shelley vs. Moose: No Surrender Match (No Surrender)
At the start of 2024, Alex Shelley was TNA World Champion—until Moose dethroned him at Hard To Kill. Fast forward to No Surrender, and their rematch took things to a new level with a “No Surrender” stipulation: no disqualifications, no count-outs, and cornermen who could only end the match by throwing in the towel.
Both competitors pushed themselves to the limit, using steel chairs, kendo sticks, and even a wrench to inflict damage. The emotional climax came when Kushida threw in the towel to save his friend Shelley from Moose’s relentless spears. Shelley proved his worth as a champion, but on this night, Moose emerged victorious.
#9. Mike Bailey vs. Leon Slater (TNA IMPACT – October 17th)
The second half of 2024 saw TNA hit its stride, producing incredible matches, and Mike Bailey played a big role. Before departing TNA in November, Bailey spent months as X Division Champion, defending his title against all challengers—including 20-year-old British sensation Leon Slater.
On the October 17th edition of TNA IMPACT, Bailey and Slater delivered a classic. Bailey’s strategy was to ground the high-flying Slater, but Slater’s aerial offense kept fans glued to their screens. This excellent TV match not only showcased Bailey’s skills as a fighting champion but also introduced fans to Slater’s immense potential.
#8. The Hardys vs. The ABC vs. Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers: Full Metal Mayhem (Bound For Glory)
Bound For Glory 2024 brought chaos and thrills to Michigan, with the main event—a three-way Full Metal Mayhem match—perfectly capturing the spirit of the Motor City.
The Hardys and the ABC took the fight to the defending champions, Edwards and Myers, using weapons and high-flying stunts. Highlights included Jeff and Ace having a “sword fight” with steel chairs atop a ladder, the Hardys powerbombing Edwards through tables, and Myers hitting a mid-air spear on Chris Bey in a callback to WrestleMania X-7. This thrilling match was a fantastic way to close the show.
#7. Nic Nemeth vs. Steve Maclin (Sacrifice)
Nic Nemeth’s TNA run has been a highlight of 2024, and his clash with Steve Maclin at Sacrifice stands out as one of his best matches.
The animosity between the two boiled over in a hard-hitting 14-minute bout that had the crowd enthralled. Nemeth used his agility and experience to outmaneuver Maclin, while Maclin relied on raw power. A standout moment came when Maclin missed his signature running shoulder tackle and crashed into the timekeeper’s table. This opening match set the tone for the night and solidified TNA’s reputation for stellar show starters.
#6. Josh Alexander vs. Steve Maclin (Bound For Glory)
Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin reignited their rivalry in late 2024, culminating in an intense clash at Bound For Glory. With Alexander as a cunning heel and Maclin as a no-nonsense badass, the match delivered compelling storytelling.
The highlight came when Alexander zip-tied Maclin’s hands behind his back, forcing Maclin to fight back in an incredible display of resilience. Ultimately, Maclin passed out in Alexander’s ankle lock. Their rematch at Turning Point was strong, but this match was the standout.
#5. Masha Slamovich vs. Jordynne Grace: 2 out of 3 Falls Match (Turning Point)
Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace have undeniable chemistry, and their 2-out-of-3 Falls match at Turning Point was a testament to that.
Fast-paced action, jaw-dropping piledrivers, and unpredictable pinfalls kept fans on the edge of their seats. In the end, Masha won two falls to one, retaining her Knockouts Championship and closing the chapter on her feud with Grace.
#4. Zachary Wentz vs. Mike Bailey (Victory Road)
Zachary Wentz defended his X Division Championship against Mike Bailey at Victory Road, delivering a thrilling “mirror match” of high-flying and hard-hitting action.
From the opening bell, the crowd was captivated by their athleticism and innovative offense. Though Wentz’s reign was short-lived, this match was a standout moment that exemplified the X Division’s excellence.
#3. Josh Alexander vs. Will Ospreay (TNA IMPACT – January 18th)
When this rematch was announced, expectations were sky-high—and Alexander and Ospreay exceeded them.
The two exchanged counters, big moves, and near falls in a match that left the crowd evenly split. A Storm Driver through a table by Ospreay looked like the end, but the referee allowed the match to continue. Alexander eventually hit the C4 Spike to win, earning a 5.5-star rating from Dave Meltzer and cementing this match as an instant classic.
#2. The ABC vs. Grizzled Young Vets (No Surrender)
The conclusion of the Best of Three series for the TNA World Tag Team Titles was a masterpiece. The Grizzled Young Vets targeted Ace Austin’s injured arm and shoulder, while the ABC’s resilience shone through.
The match’s climax saw Ace and Chris Bey use the Vets’ own scarf against them before hitting an Art of Finesse and The Fold combo to retain their titles. This match solidified ABC as one of the best tag teams in wrestling today.
#1. Josh Alexander vs. Kazarian vs. Moose vs. Nic Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry vs. Steve Maclin (Slammiversary)
This six-way elimination match for the TNA World Championship was the perfect way to close Slammiversary 2024.

A phenomenal match featuring the best of this generation—and the clear Match of the Year for TNA in 2024.
