At Hard to Kill, Alexander Hammerstone competed against Josh Alexander in a match that wasn’t for a title and didn’t involve a contract. Despite the high-profile nature of the match, Hammerstone wasn’t under contract with TNA Wrestling at that time. However, his impressive performance caught the attention of TNA’s backstage team and fans, leading to an offer for a contract a month later.
Upon signing, Hammerstone was given a rematch against Josh Alexander, which took place at Sacrifice on March 8. In a hard-hitting encounter, Hammerstone managed to even the score with Alexander. Despite taunting Alexander throughout their interactions, Hammerstone initially seemed reluctant to agree to another match.
The situation shifted when Hammerstone was accused of avoiding a rematch after declining Alexander’s open challenge. Hammerstone has now agreed to a rematch on his terms at Rebellion on April 20. It has been confirmed that this rematch will be a Last Man Standing match.
