After a few appearances in 2016, Jonathan Gresham made his return to Impact Wrestling on December 23, 2021. The company announced that Gresham would defend his ROH World Championship at the Hard To Kill event against Chris Sabin, who had been owed a ROH World Championship match since 2018. At the event, Gresham successfully retained his title against Sabin and then went on to defeat Steve Maclin two weeks later.
On the December 15, 2022, episode of Impact!, Gresham made another return to the promotion, this time saving Delirious from an attack by Eddie Edwards. It was soon confirmed that Gresham had signed with Impact Wrestling. On January 13, 2023, at Hard To Kill, Gresham faced Eddie Edwards but was defeated.
On June 29, 2023, it was announced that Gresham would compete at Slammiversary on July 15, 2023, in a five-way Ultimate X match to determine the #1 contender for the Impact X Division Championship. Initially slated to face Mike Bailey, KUSHIDA, Kevin Knight, and Alan Angels, the match later expanded to a six-way with the addition of Jake Something. Despite his efforts, Gresham was unsuccessful as KUSHIDA emerged victorious.
Gresham’s last appearance in the Impact Zone was on November 9, 2023, where he challenged Alex Shelley for the IMPACT World Championship but was ultimately unsuccessful.
