The beginning of the end is here. Netflix has released the first teaser for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, giving fans a glimpse at Hawkins’ biggest showdown yet. This last chapter will bring the story—first told back in 2016—to a dramatic close.
Everyone’s Back for One Last Ride
The core cast returns: Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Maya Hawke and Jamie Campbell Bower are all confirmed. They’ll be joined by new additions Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux. According to Netflix, this will be the last time we see this group of characters together.
Teaser Revealed on Stranger Things Day
The teaser trailer premiered on July 16, 2025, during Netflix’s Tudum event—jumping the story ahead to fall 1987 with Hawkins still reeling from the Rifts. One of the new episode titles begins “The Vanishing Of…”, echoing the series’ origins, but the teaser didn’t reveal the full name
Eight Episodes, One Epic Finale
Netflix has confirmed all eight episode titles:
- The Crawl
- The Vanishing Of…
- The Turnbow Trap
- Sorcerer
- Shock Jock
- Escape from Camazotz
- The Bridge
- The Rightside Up (the series finale)
Ross Duffer called this final season “the biggest and most ambitious” yet. Adding to the excitement, acclaimed director Frank Darabont—known for The Shawshank Redemption—has come out of retirement to direct two episodes.
A Darker Hawkins and a Vanished Vecna
Set in the autumn of 1987, the story picks up after the Rifts tore through Hawkins. The gang’s mission is clear: find Vecna and stop him. But Vecna has vanished, and no one knows where—or what—he’s planning. Meanwhile, the government enforces a strict military quarantine over the town and begins hunting Eleven once more, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, an old sense of dread settles over Hawkins. The endgame is coming, and the only hope is for them to face it together.
A Legacy That Changed Streaming

Netflix has mapped out a three‑part rollout:
- Volume 1 arrives 26 November 2025.
