Download Festival 2025 Unveils Star-Studded Lineup, Featuring Green Day, Sleep Token, and Korn as Headliners. Download Festival has announced its first major lineup for 2025, marking a thrilling milestone for the UK’s biggest rock and metal festival. The 2025 edition—dubbed DLXXII—will be headlined by three major acts making their first-ever appearance at the festival’s main stage: punk-rock icons Green Day, rising stars Sleep Token, and nu-metal legends Korn.
Over 90 bands have been confirmed for the event, which will take place from June 13-15, 2025, at Donington Park in Leicestershire. Other notable acts include Weezer, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, Eagles of Death Metal, The Darkness, Poppy, Loathe, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, and many more.
This year’s festival promises to be one of the most exciting in Download’s 22-year history, with the three headline slots dedicated to bands that have never before headlined the main stage. The announcement underscores Download’s commitment to delivering a dynamic and fresh lineup each year, offering fans a chance to see new headliners alongside established rock royalty.
Green Day, Sleep Token, and Korn to Headline
Green Day will headline the festival on Friday, June 13, marking their long-awaited debut at Download after more than three decades in the rock world. Known for their high-energy performances and anthemic hits like American Idiot and Basket Case, Green Day has remained one of the most influential rock bands of the past 30 years. The band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album Dookie and the 20th anniversary of American Idiot in 2025, making this appearance particularly significant for fans.
On Saturday, June 14, the enigmatic Sleep Token will take the stage for their first-ever Download headline performance. The mysterious masked collective has experienced meteoric success since their formation in 2016, with their genre-blending sound earning them a loyal following and millions of streams. Their inclusion as a headliner marks a major moment for the band, whose blend of alternative rock, metal, and ambient sounds has made them one of the most talked-about acts in modern rock.
Korn will close the festival on Sunday, June 15, also making their Download headlining debut. The Californian nu-metal pioneers have been at the forefront of rock since the 1990s, influencing bands across a variety of genres. Their inclusion as a headliner reflects their enduring relevance, with recent shows further cementing their status as one of the most vital and influential rock bands of their generation.
An Expanded Lineup of Rock and Metal Icons
In addition to the headliners, the 2025 Download Festival will feature a massive range of acts across a variety of genres. Fans can look forward to performances from Weezer, who are set to bring their indie-rock anthems to Donington Park, as well as the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, who will offer their punk-rock classics with a new twist. Other confirmed acts include the alternative rock giants Jimmy Eat World, symphonic metal band Within Temptation, and the always-exciting Eagles of Death Metal and The Darkness.
