For the Love of Wrestling 2022 in Liverpool featured an impressive lineup of wrestling stars, including legends from WWE, AEW, and beyond. Attendees had the chance to meet and take photos with industry icons such as:

  • Former WWE Superstars: Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas, Erick Rowan, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Victoria, Torrie Wilson, Trish Stratus.
  • Broadcasters & Personalities: Jim Ross, Lillian Garcia, SoCal Val.
  • Current & Former AEW Stars: MJF, Nick Aldis.
  • Other Wrestling Icons: Grado, Fred Ottman (Typhoon/Shockmaster).

Our own Matt Laurillard spoke with Jay a couple of months ago about the event and said the following about the event;

For The Love Of Wrestling offers exceptional value for money, making it a standout event for wrestling fans. Attendees get a lot for the £20 entry ticket, which includes access to various attractions throughout the weekend. This value is reflected in the wide range of experiences available, from prop builds and exhibits to Q&A sessions and a live wrestling show from FutureShock on Saturday night.

One of the main highlights of the event is the Q&A sessions, which feature between 25 to 30 sessions with wrestling stars from both the past and present. These sessions provide fans with a unique opportunity to interact with their idols and gain insights into the world of professional wrestling. Given the extensive range of content on offer, the ticket price is incredibly reasonable, especially when compared to the cost of attending a single evening wrestling event.

Beyond the attractions, the event fosters a sense of community, bringing together around 5,000 wrestling fans. Whether attending alone or in a group, everyone is made to feel welcome, creating an inclusive atmosphere where fans can connect and bond over their shared passion. In fact, many attendees form lifelong friendships, as exemplified by one fan who described having the best weekend of their life without even meeting any of the wrestling stars.

For The Love Of Wrestling goes beyond just being an event—it’s a celebration of the wrestling community, offering fans an unforgettable experience with exceptional value for money.

The event also featured a trader zone filled with vendors selling wrestling memorabilia, merchandise, replica belts, action figures, and vintage collectibles. Fans could buy exclusive autographs, custom artwork, and even rare wrestling DVDs and VHS tapes. Some stalls focused on wrestling fashion, offering t-shirts, jackets, and hats featuring classic and modern wrestling designs.

Our own Matthew Roberts attended the show, alongside myself, friend of the website Adam Cailler and another social media editor who came along with me for the ride!

With everyone who we spoke with, the event was highly praised for its organisation and fan-friendly atmosphere, though some attendees noted that photo and autograph prices were a bit steep for certain superstars which can be expected. Overall, it was a memorable weekend for wrestling fans in the UK.

We’d like to thank For the Love of Wrestling 2022 for their invite to the show, the vendors who we spoke too on the day, and their opinions of the event as a whole (And Future Shock for letting us sit down around their ring for abit!)
