As one of the TNA’s flagship pay-per-views in company history, Bound For Glory has seen many wrestlers compete with a small few being able to say they’ve picked up a win at the event, but have done so multiple times.
Sadly, the entries on this list haven’t been so lucky when given the opportunity to perform at BFG; Some still have a chance to turn their loss streaks around and some…well not so much.
Welcome to Pop Culture Sports and here are Ten TNA Wrestlers who’ve never won at Bound For Glory.
10. Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz
Since their debut with the company in 2018, The Rascalz have become a popular trio in TNA having incredible matches and finding success in the tag team and singles divisions.
Unfortunately two of the groups members (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) have so far been unable to score a win at Bound For Glory; There first match at the event was in 2019 when Dez, Wentz and Trey lost to the team of Aero Star, Black Taurus and the legendary Dr. Wanger Jr. on the preshow.
Things didn’t improve when Dez and Wentz lost a near 4 minute preshow match to Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake (Jake Something)…No disrespect or anything, but how is it that Cody freakin Deaner has a win at BFG before any of the Rascalz did?!? no wonder they left for NXT.
By 2021,Trey Miguel defeated Steve Maclin and the Bullet Club’s El Phantasmo to become the new X Division Champion, making him the only person in the Rascalz to have won at Bound For Glory. Wentz would return to TNA in 2023, but he and Trey failed to retain their tag titles against Ace Austin and Chris Bey at that year’s BFG/
With the recent partnership between WWE and TNA allowing NXT stars to cross over each others promotion, the chances are still their for either Wentz or Dez to hopefully pick up a victory at Bound For Glory.
9. Steve Maclin
Upon arriving in TNA in 2021, Maclin has currently had three bouts and BFG with none of them seeing a win for the Forgotten Son.
He lost the previously mentioned three way match for the X Division Title in 2021, he was the runner up in the 2022 Call Your Shot Gauntlet but lost to Bully Ray and in a four way monster’s ball match at BFG 2023, Maclin again lost thanks to outside interference by the former leader of Aces N’ Eights…Bully really loved messing with Maclin during his return back to the company.
Much like Dez and Wentz, the chance is still there for the former TNA World Champion to walk out of Bound For Glory with a ‘W’ under his belt as a far as Bound For Glory is concerned.
8. Drew Galloway
Before he re-emerged in the WWE and eventually became ‘The Scottish Psychopath’, Drew McIntyre (or Drew Galloway on the indies) was tour de force in the mid 2010’s as he re-invented himself to become a bonafide main eventer as seen during his run in TNA from 2015-17.
Surprisingly, Drew has only be able to wrestle at Bound For Glory just once with that match being the main event of Bound For Glory 2015 where he was pinned in a three way match allowing Matt Hardy to win his first TNA World Championship.
Drew’s second chance to compete at BFG came in 2016 when he and Aron Rex (aka the former Damien Sandow) were set to fight for the inaugural Grand Championship, Galloway was pulled from the match with an injury leaving Eddie Edwards to take his spot…Although considering Edwards would go on to lost match, perhaps it’s a good them Drew wasn’t cleared to wrestle.
Unless the recently discussed TNA/WWE partnership starts seeing main roster WWE talent come to TNA, it’s a bit unlikely will see Drew appearing at Bound For Glory anytime soon.
7. Low-Ki
One of the early pioneers of TNA’s X Division, Low Ki has only had three oppertunities to compete at Bound For Glory with all them either involving the X Division Title or the Ultimate X.
His first loss claim when he (going under the name of Senshi) lost the X Division Title to Chris Sabin at Bound For Glory 2006, the second happened a year later when he and fellow Triple X tag partner, Elix Skipper loss a tag team Ultimate X match to Homicide and Hernandez of LAX.
Low-Ki’s final appearance at BFG saw him lose a three way X Division title bout to defending champion, Samoa Joe; Considering his currently spending his time in Major League Wrestling, it’s unlikely that wrestling’s greatest hitman will on the card for a match at this October event.
6. Matt Morgan
Despite his success as a multiple time TNA World Tag Team Champion and being a regular figure on the roster for much of the the late 2000’s to mid 2010’s, Matt Morgan’s efforts have been fruitless as far as Bound For Glory is concerned.
After playing the role of special guest enforcer in the Christian Cage versus Samoa Joe at BFG 2007, Morgan would compete in 2008 for the tag team titles with his partner Abyss, he wrestle in the semi main events of Bound For Glory 2009 and 2010 and finally wrestle Crimson and Samoa Joe in a three way match at BFG 2011…All of which led to him on the losing side.
For as tall and talented as ‘The Blueprint’ was in TNA, Matt Morgan was never able to pick up that major win that would define his career especially at Bound For Glory.
5. Rosemary
Considering she’s the second longest tenured wrestler active in the company (the first being Eddie Edwards), it’s shocking how Rosemary has never won a single match at Bound For Glory despite being around for almost 10 years.
The Demon Assassin’s first shot at Bound For Glory came when she along with Crazzy Steve and Abyss lost the TNA World Tag Team Titles to the Hardy Boyz in 2016 with Matt’s wife and fellow wrestler, Reby Sky-Hardy also getting involved. In 2017, Rosemary was suppose to wrestle Taya Valkyrie in a Red Wedding match, but visa issues prevented Taya from competing and outside a cameo appearance in the Abyss vs. Grado monster’s ball match, Rosemary didn’t compete.
An injury prevented Rosemary from getting on the card for BFG 2018 though she did appear as part of Undead Realm segment involving Allie, Kiera Hogan, Father James Mitchell and Su Yung; Rosemary would be one of many names that didn’t win at the inaugural Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at BFG 2019 and in 2021 she was the manager for Taya Valkyrie and Jessicka Havok who defeated Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green to become the new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions.
As one of the company’s recurring performers, the door is still open for Rosemary to one day get that win at BFG, hopefully that happens before she reacts 20 years in the promotion.
4. Deonna Purrazzo
Speaking of Deonna Purrazzo, the wife of Steve Maclin is also no stranger to coming up short at Bound For Glory with all of her matches seeing her wrestle with champioship gold at stake.
Purrazzo’s first appearance at BFG 2020 saw her defend and lose the Knockouts Title in the semi main event to Su Yung who was filling in for Kylie Rae who no showed the event; The following year she again took part in the semi main event where she again lost the Knockouts World Championship this time to then rival, Mickie James.
In 2022, Deonna and Chelsea Green lost the Knockouts Tag Team Titles to Taya and Havok and her most recent loss came at Bound For Glory 2023 where she and Tasha Steelz failed to win the belts off the team of Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly aka MK Ultra…Also the match was YouTube exclusive, meaning Purrazzo couldn’t even make it to the actual show this time.
By the start of the 2024, Purrazzo signed with All Elite Wrestling, diminishing any cases of her breaking this 0-4 BFG record.
3. Awesome Kong
Much like Deonna Purrazzo, Awesome Kong was one of the most influential wrestlers in the Knockouts Division with her work and rivalries becoming the stuff of legendary…However much like Deonna, Kong has also suffered four losses at Bound For Glory.
In 2007, Kong lost the Knockouts Gauntlet Match to crown the first ever TNA Knockouts Champion and would come up short in 2008 and 2009 for the belt in three way matches which saw the champions retaining their title.
Kong’s last match at Bound For Glory was in 2015 where she wrestled longtime foe, Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship but failed to win the title; She would appear few more times at Bound For Glory either as a guest for someone else’s Hall of Fame induction or being one of the inductees herself in 2021.
2. Angelina Love
Our four and final Knockout to make this list, Angelina Love’s losing streak at Bound For Glory is almost as high as the number of times she’s been Knockouts Champion.
Love was one of several ladies who participated in the Knockouts Gauntlet at BFG 2007 and lost, before losing a mix tag team match at the following year’s Bound For Glory. Angelina would be temporarily gone from the company in late 2009 but returned in 2010 where she wrestled for the Knockouts Championship in multi matches at BFG 2010 and 2011, both of which she lost.
In fact, when it comes to the three main ladies of the Beautiful People, Velvet Sky is the only to have won at Bound For Glory while Madison Rayne has also scored a win at BFG albeit on the preshow against Shotzi Blackheart.
1. Christopher Daniels
Another legendary figure when it comes to the growth and development of TNA’s X Division, Christopher Daniels is highly decorated name in professional wrestling with most of his work taking place in TNA in from the 2000’s to the mid 2010’s.
While Daniels is often in the running for wrestlers who never became world champion in TNA, Daniels is also in the running for having the most losses of any person in the history of Bound For Glory. At the very first BFG event in 2005, Daniels lost a 30 minute Iron Man match to AJ Styles before teaming with Styles a year later at BFG 2006, losing the tag straps to Homicide and Hernandez in the semi main event.
From 2007-09, Daniels competed matches involving the X Division or the X Division title all of which he lost; He would resurface at BFG 2011 losing an ‘I Quit’ match to friend/enemy AJ Styles and losing the tag belts again in 2012 before losing a tag team gaunlet match on the preshow of Bound For Glory 2013.
If you’re keeping track, that means Daniels has had eight losses at Bound For Glory and on two occasions he has had three consecutives losses at BFG; With his current position as Head of Talent Relations in AEW, the possibility of Christopher Daniels coming back and scoring a win at Bound For Glory seems as likely as him becoming TNA World Champion…Highly doubt it.
